en.Wedoany.com Reported - John Deere dealer Stotz Equipment is combining DJI spraying drones with a live algae biostimulant system to address extreme desert growing conditions in Arizona. With 24 locations, the company's precision agriculture specialists are promoting this technology application.

Precision agriculture specialist Jake Nordenberg serves hay, cotton, and wheat growers in the Buckeye, Arizona area. He notes that the region is dominated by hay cultivation, with rocky soil and scarce rainfall—some fields receive less than one inch of rain annually. Nordenberg states, "See & Spray is not suitable for hay," but using DJI drones allows for flying to create targeted spray maps, locating weed positions, and then sending them to ground equipment for treatment.

During a farm visit, the Stotz team also discovered an operating MyLand system, consisting of four large tanks used to cultivate live algae and other microbial biomass on-site, which is then added to irrigation water to promote crop growth. Growers are increasingly combining this method with drone-based targeted spraying. Additionally, Stotz Equipment's three-person analytics team, leveraging John Deere Operations Center data, helps growers reduce equipment idle time and optimize horsepower allocation—part of an effort to apply precision tools to desert year-round harvest cycles and lower costs.
