en.Wedoany.com Reported - The European Commission this week proposed a cybersecurity and artificial intelligence action plan, partly driven by new security challenges posed by high-performance AI models.

According to the European Commission's communication, AI technologies could be used by malicious actors for automated attacks, discovering software vulnerabilities, and conducting cyber operations at unprecedented speed and scale. Notably, Anthropic's Mythos model is reportedly capable of identifying vulnerabilities, and U.S. authorities have banned its proliferation.

The action plan aims to adopt a coordinated approach to help EU countries, businesses, and authorities benefit from AI technologies while addressing related risks. It includes three tasks: promoting the safe and responsible use of the latest AI advancements; strengthening EU cybersecurity and resilience; and enhancing the EU's AI capabilities in the cybersecurity field.

For the first task, for example, the European Commission plans to strengthen the EU's analytical capabilities for AI models before they are placed on the market, in line with the requirements of the Artificial Intelligence Act. At the same time, the Commission will work with the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) to develop a plan for secure access to the latest AI systems and establish reliable platforms for testing and deploying AI solutions for critical industries.
