en.Wedoany.com Reported - Uzbekistan has launched a new artificial intelligence cluster at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi (TUIT) to strengthen the country's AI ecosystem, expand scientific capabilities, and support innovation-driven growth. The Ministry of Digital Technologies announced this initiative at the opening ceremony, attended by government officials, representatives of the tech industry, scholars, researchers, and students, as well as Digital Technologies Minister Sherzod Shermatov and senior officials responsible for digitalization and AI development from the Presidential Administration and the Cabinet of Ministers.

The AI cluster aims to integrate education, scientific research, and innovation projects into a single platform, supporting the development of AI talent and emerging technologies in Uzbekistan. As part of the project, TUIT has received a modern GPU cluster and high-performance multifunctional servers to support AI model development, large-scale data processing, machine learning, and applied research. According to the university, this initiative enhances the institution's scientific and technical capabilities while creating opportunities for students and young researchers to develop innovative AI solutions. The new facilities include an AI laboratory, an AI prototyping room, and an AI lecture hall, providing dedicated spaces for research and development focused on artificial intelligence, 3D design, the Internet of Things (IoT), and startup projects. Officials also launched the AI module of the ServSig project during the event and showcased several startup initiatives and research achievements.
This launch aligns with Uzbekistan's overall strategy to expand the application of AI technologies, cultivate a skilled workforce, and support the growth of the digital economy. The Ministry of Digital Technologies stated that the new AI cluster is expected to play a key role in advancing Uzbekistan's long-term strategy, helping the country become a regional hub for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
