en.Wedoany.com Reported - The China Building Materials Federation and the Chinese Ceramic Society have jointly issued a notice to initiate the nomination process for the 2026 "Building Materials Science and Technology Awards." This award aims to promote scientific and technological innovation in the building materials industry and recognize organizations and individuals who have contributed to the industry's technological development. Covering fields such as building materials, non-metallic minerals and products, and inorganic non-metallic new materials, it serves as a key basis for the industry's nomination of the National Science and Technology Awards.

The 2026 Building Materials Science and Technology Awards are divided into four categories: Basic Research Award, Technology Invention Award, Technology Progress Award, and Science and Technology Public Welfare Award. For the Basic Research Award, applicants must provide publications that have been publicly available for more than one year (published before May 30, 2025), along with citation and retrieval reports, specifying details of external citations, self-citations, and positive references. Additionally, independent reviews by at least three peer experts or provincial/ministerial-level appraisal evaluations are required. For the Technology Invention Award, the overall technology must have been applied for more than one year before May 30, 2025, with core technologies supported by authorized invention patents or software copyrights as proof of rights, and must undergo third-party appraisal at the provincial/ministerial level. For the Technology Progress Award, the main or overall technology must have achieved industrial application for more than one year before May 30, 2025, and must be appraised by a third party at the provincial/ministerial level. For the Science and Technology Public Welfare Award, the completion time must be at least one year before May 30, 2025, covering basic or public welfare achievements in areas such as metrology and testing, industrial innovation design, science popularization, environmental protection, and resource surveys, excluding science and technology management, science and technology services, and books, journals, and patents.

Projects nominated for the Technology Invention Award, Technology Progress Award, and Science and Technology Public Welfare Award must provide economic benefit proofs verified by the finance department or tax authority of the completing unit. Projects that have previously received lower-level awards in 2023 (inclusive) or earlier may be re-nominated if significant breakthroughs have been achieved. Projects involving any of the following circumstances are not eligible for nomination: scientific research misconduct, intellectual property disputes, failure to provide third-party technical evaluations, prior receipt of the National Science and Technology Award, or insufficient application or publication duration of less than one year.

Member units and branches of the China Building Materials Federation and the Chinese Ceramic Society, national professional associations and societies, and provincial-level associations and societies may nominate projects from their own units and members; relevant research institutes and universities may nominate projects from their own units.
