en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Hongqi G919 has successfully passed two aerodynamic performance challenges—"High-Speed Crosswind Safety and Stability" and "Ultra-Low Wind Noise"—issued by the Engineering Institute of CATARC, earning the "High-Speed Crosswind Safety and Stability Performance Challenge Certificate." This makes it a benchmark for Hongqi brand's comprehensive aerodynamic performance in the hardcore off-road vehicle segment.

The "Outstanding Comprehensive Aerodynamic Performance Challenge Procedure" released by the Engineering Institute of CATARC is an industry standard used to evaluate automakers' R&D capabilities and quality control levels in areas such as wind resistance, wind noise, and high-speed crosswind safety and stability. Passing this challenge demonstrates that Hongqi has achieved a high standard in R&D system construction, core technology breakthroughs, and quality control.

In terms of high-speed crosswind safety and stability, the Hongqi G919 withstood a Category 11 strong crosswind at a speed of 150 km/h while maintaining normal lane driving, earning the "High-Speed Crosswind Safety and Stability Performance Challenge Certificate" from CATARC. This capability comes from the Hongque off-road platform's four-motor independent drive vehicle control system, which can detect crosswind interference in milliseconds and quickly correct deviation through differential torque control of the left and right drive motors, reducing the driver's operational burden.

Regarding ultra-low wind noise performance, the Hongqi G919 adopts a rugged and simple "square box" design, where airflow separation can easily generate high-speed wind noise. To achieve a hardcore off-road character while ensuring a quiet experience, Hongqi applied AI rapid prediction and optimization technologies for wind noise and acoustic packages, conducting multiple rounds of refined design around styling features and transmission paths, and performing multi-objective optimization considering cost and weight factors. Ultimately, it scored over 9 points in the comprehensive ultra-low wind noise test evaluation, reaching the highest A-level challenge standard.

FAW Group's next step is to continuously improve vehicle driving safety performance, deeply optimize wind noise quality, and promote the application of AI simulation R&D tools throughout the entire process to enhance vehicle quietness and safety performance, upgrading the hardcore off-road driving experience.
