en.Wedoany.com Reported - Donghai Anhe Bulk Cargo Transport Co., Ltd. has placed an order with China State Shipbuilding Corporation's Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for two 1,900 TEU container ships, marking Donghai Anhe's first entry into the container ship construction sector.
Recently, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd., signed a construction contract with Donghai Anhe Bulk Cargo Transport Co., Ltd. (referred to as Donghai Anhe) for two 1,900 TEU container ships.
The vessel type under this contract is the "Honghu" series feeder container ship, independently developed by Huangpu Wenchong. The ship has an overall length of 172 meters, a width of 27.5 meters, a deadweight tonnage of approximately 24,450 tons, and a design service speed of 18.5 knots. It features high container capacity, low per-container transport costs, strong operational flexibility, fast speed, green energy efficiency, and economic performance, making it suitable for global near-sea feeder transport needs.

Donghai Anhe stated that the company has been deeply involved in the shipping industry for over a decade, establishing a diversified fleet system covering dry bulk, liquid cargo, and offshore vessels, with continuous expansion of global shipping routes. The addition of feeder container ships aims to optimize the fleet structure, fill the gap in the container business segment, and lay the foundation for entering the comprehensive shipping field covering all cargo types.
According to public information, Donghai Anhe was established in Hong Kong in 2014 and has since set up offices in Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, London, Vancouver, and other locations. The fleet has gradually expanded, currently comprising nearly 20 vessels, including Capesize, Panamax, and Handysize dry bulk carriers, as well as product tankers and multi-purpose chemical tankers, covering three major transport sectors: dry bulk, refined oil, and chemicals. The company's owned capacity exceeds 1.26 million deadweight tons, with controlled capacity of approximately 3 million deadweight tons, and an annual cargo volume of over 15 million deadweight tons.
The company transports bulk commodities such as grain, ore, and coal globally, maintaining long-term cooperation with major domestic Chinese clients including COFCO, Chinatex, Shagang, Minmetals, Rui Steel Union, and Rui Maotong, while gradually strengthening partnerships with international companies such as Vale, BHP, Rio Tinto, Swiss Marine, and FMG. Additionally, large international shipping companies such as LDC, Cargill, Oldendorff, and Classic Maritime maintain long-term stable cooperation with Donghai Anhe in time charter transactions.
