en.Wedoany.com Reported - Ashok Leyland has entered into a strategic partnership with Rosmerta Recycling to promote organized and environmentally responsible end-of-life recycling of commercial vehicles across India, supporting sustainable mobility and simplifying the scrapping process for commercial vehicle owners through an authorized nationwide recycling network.

Rosmerta Recycling operates Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs) across the country, with the capability to scientifically dismantle end-of-life vehicles in compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. These facilities are designed to maximize the recovery of recyclable materials while promoting the development of a circular economy.
The partnership aligns with the Indian government's Voluntary Vehicle Modernization Program, which encourages replacing old and polluting vehicles with cleaner, more fuel-efficient alternatives. It also complements the recently launched "Naya Safar Scheme," which focuses on reducing transport-related emissions in the Delhi-National Capital Region (Delhi-NCR).
Under the partnership, Ashok Leyland's extensive dealer network will serve as the customer interface for vehicle scrapping services, enabling owners to access Rosmerta's authorized recycling facilities. The program will provide end-to-end assistance, including vehicle deregistration and completion of statutory formalities, making the scrapping process more convenient and transparent.
Madhavi Deshmukh, National Head of Sales at Ashok Leyland, stated that with a large number of aging commercial vehicles in India, establishing an organized, transparent, and customer-friendly scrapping ecosystem is crucial. By partnering with Rosmerta Recycling, Ashok Leyland simplifies the responsible vehicle disposal process while helping customers transition to newer, cleaner, and more efficient commercial vehicles. This partnership reinforces Ashok Leyland's commitment to sustainable mobility, circular economy principles, and lifecycle emission reduction.
Kartick Nagpal, President of the Rosmerta Group, added that the collaboration with Ashok Leyland comes at a critical time, as the government's recently approved commercial vehicle replacement program is expected to accelerate organized vehicle scrapping across India. Mandating the scrapping of BS-III and older commercial vehicles through authorized RVSFs—covering approximately 207,000 vehicles in the Delhi-NCR region—is a significant step toward cleaner mobility and a stronger circular economy. At Rosmerta Recycling, the company remains committed to scientific dismantling, maximizing material recovery, and maintaining the highest environmental and regulatory standards to build a sustainable vehicle recycling ecosystem.
Vehicle owners opting for the scrapping program will receive a competitive valuation for their old commercial vehicles, along with factory discounts on the purchase of new Ashok Leyland vehicles. They are also eligible for reductions in road tax and registration fees, subject to applicable government policies. The partnership further ensures a compliant and professionally managed deregistration process, providing owners with a hassle-free ownership transition.
The program strengthens Ashok Leyland's broader sustainability strategy by encouraging the responsible disposal of aging commercial vehicles, reducing emissions, improving resource recovery, and supporting the development of India's organized vehicle recycling ecosystem.
