en.Wedoany.com Reported - Yunex Traffic has successfully commissioned a high-capacity electric vehicle charging solution for Highways Stops Retail Limited (HSRL), which is now operational, marking a significant step in HSRL's strategic investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI). Yunex Traffic's field service engineers will be responsible for its ongoing service and maintenance.

HSRL owns and operates 16 service stations in Southeast England. Its selected Astwick site, located on the northbound carriageway of the A1 trunk road near Hitchin, has become the first service station to offer en-route electric vehicle charging facilities for customers based on a distributed power management system. The charging solution utilizes a Kempower distributed power system, including two triple power cabinets, each with an output power of up to 400 kW, and four dual satellite units, enabling simultaneous charging of eight parking bays, each equipped with contactless payment functionality.

Max Todd, Partner Sales Manager for Kempower UK and Ireland, stated that trusted partners like Yunex Traffic are a valuable asset when undertaking such new projects. The company supported HSRL in integrating the charging infrastructure into the site and, for the first time in the UK, offered hardware through flexible leasing options. Flexible funding will enable more charging operators to invest in infrastructure, supporting the transition to electric mobility in the UK and beyond.

Wilke Reints, Managing Director of Yunex Traffic UK, noted that this project marks several important milestones, the most notable being the first deployment of a Kempower solution at a UK service station. With a comprehensive portfolio of charging solutions tailored for the EVCI market, the company has provided customized systems for a wide range of applications, from farm shops and charging hubs to airports, and now service stations. Building on this experience, the company looks forward to continuing its close collaboration with partner Kempower to support the evolving EVCI needs across different market sectors and use cases.
