en.Wedoany.com Reported - Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) has launched the procurement process for a contractor for the airport's power supply system. CPK is Poland's flagship transport infrastructure project, which will build a new international airport integrated with a national high-speed rail and highway network. The power supply system will be designed as a single integrated network capable of flexibly drawing electricity from the national grid, local emergency power systems, and renewable energy sources. The infrastructure built will ensure a continuous and reliable power supply for navigation systems, airport runway lighting, passenger terminals, and other facilities critical to the safe operation of the airport. Interested companies must submit applications by August 5, and CPK has stated it will select five companies for a shortlist. Located between Warsaw and Łódź, CPK is planned to become the largest airport in Central and Eastern Europe and one of the top 15 hubs in Europe, with a target opening date of 2032.

Hobart International Airport (HBA), located in Tasmania, Australia, has completed two-thirds of its AUD 200 million (approximately USD 139 million) terminal expansion project. HBA CEO Norris Carter stated that the project will ultimately double the terminal's size, providing more space and additional dining and retail options. He added that the new terminal will feature more baggage claim space and arrival exits leading to a new rental car center. The newly opened arrival area adds 800 square meters (approximately 8,600 square feet) to the terminal. Five airlines currently operate domestic routes from the airport.
Bristol Airport (BRS), located in South West England, has received the ground modules that form its new energy center, which will convert its heating and cooling systems from gas boilers to air-source heat pumps. The GBP 10 million (approximately USD 13.4 million) facility was constructed off-site over the past four months, with four steel frame modules transported to the airport by road. The airport stated that replacing gas boilers with air-source heat pumps will involve 22 air-source heat pumps and one electric boiler, the latter providing additional heating and cooling capacity during peak demand periods.
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) has appointed Jason Paltzer as Assistant Director of Commercial and Business Development. Paltzer previously worked at Indianapolis International Airport (IND), where he led IND's commercial program for a decade. The airport stated that Paltzer will lead initiatives to drive the development of MSP's extensive commercial program and develop additional innovative revenue strategies to provide passengers with high-level services and products. MSP currently has 125 commercial outlets, including food services. The airport plans to open 47 new commercial spaces across its two terminals by 2029. A request for proposals issued on May 26 outlined plans to redevelop 80,000 square feet of commercial space.
Brisbane Airport (BNE) is trialing autonomous robotic lawnmowers, aiming to replace diesel mowers with solar-charged electric ones. BNE CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff stated that while these robotic mowers are small, their impact is significant. Unlike traditional mowing, which must be scheduled around air traffic and staff availability, the robotic mowers can operate day and night. The pilot program includes four autonomous mowers covering parts of BNE's airside area. The airport said the robotic mowers are equipped with advanced navigation and safety systems, with sensors, geofencing, and physical barriers keeping the four mowers within designated safe zones.
