en.Wedoany.com Reported - ViaRio and ViaLagos, concessionaires under the Motiva Group, are implementing a pavement restoration plan on the highways they operate, with a total investment of approximately R$19.7 million. ViaRio is investing R$7.7 million in the Transolímpica highway for the largest pavement renovation project in its history, while ViaLagos is investing about R$12 million to restore the RJ-124 highway.

The work includes milling, asphalt repaving, and re-marking, with completion expected between August and September. The companies stated that technical methods and quality control have been adopted throughout the construction process, with materials tested in laboratories before, during, and after construction, including analyses conducted at the CPR (Road Research Center). This institution is a laboratory under the Motiva Group dedicated to research aimed at extending the durability, safety, and performance of highways. Drainage systems and structural monitoring are also among the measures to extend pavement service life.
The companies stated that these investments aim to improve user experience, reduce vehicle operating costs, increase tire adhesion, and enhance road safety. In total, ViaRio will restore 19.3 lane-kilometers of pavement, and ViaLagos will renovate 33.1 lane-kilometers of pavement on a section that is one of the main routes connecting the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area to the Lakes Region.
