en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 11, 2026, Malaysian energy company Leader Energy Group Berhad (Leader Energy) has officially commenced construction of the 99MWac large-scale solar project LSE III, located in Mukim Kuala Ketil, Daerah Baling, Kedah. The project is developed by Leader Energy's wholly-owned subsidiary, Leader Solar Energy III Sdn, and was approved under Malaysia's Large Scale Solar 5+ program (LSS5+).

The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by Leader Energy founder Tan Sri Dato’ Seri H’ng Bok San, with Executive Vice Chairman and Group CEO Dato’ Sean H’ng, and Non-Independent Non-Executive Director Datin Seri Jessica H’ng in attendance.

The LSE III project strengthens Leader Energy's presence in Kedah. Previously, the company successfully developed the LSE (38MWp) and LSE II (29.4MWp) projects under Malaysia's first large-scale solar program in 2018 and 2019, accumulating experience in developing, constructing, owning, and operating utility-scale renewable energy assets.

The solar project is scheduled to begin operations in 2027. Once operational, it will add renewable energy capacity to Malaysia's national grid, supporting the country's National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).
