China's BOE HC Semi Tek advances mass production of Micro LED and optical interconnect chips

en.Wedoany.com Reported - China's BOE HC Semi Tek is advancing the production and mass production of Micro LED displays, optical interconnect, and gallium nitride power device products, with multiple products transitioning from process development to stable mass production, small-batch delivery, or customer verification stages. Among these, Micro LED communication application chips have been delivered to overseas customers, with product parameters still undergoing continuous verification and optimization. The company will continue to develop high-speed Micro LED epitaxial wafers, chips, and light-emitting modules suitable for communication systems.

In terms of display products, MPD products achieved stable mass production in 2025, and market applications will continue to expand in 2026. COW product processes are gradually maturing, with major customer introductions expected in the watch and large-screen sectors within the year. As process maturity and customer adoption progress, these two product categories will further advance from current mass production and verification stages to scaled production.

AR and automotive products are also entering the production conversion phase. AR monochrome micro-displays have achieved small-batch delivery, and mass production of optical engine products is underway. The company plans to launch full-color samples in December. ADB products have achieved stable small-batch delivery, and customer introductions will continue within the year. These developments indicate that China's BOE HC Semi Tek is extending Micro LED products from single display chips to micro-displays, optical engines, and automotive applications.

In the optical interconnect direction, Micro LED communication application chips delivered to overseas customers represent a key production milestone for the company's entry into the communication device field. The company plans to continue deploying high-speed Micro LED epitaxial wafers, chips, and light-emitting modules based on existing chips, gradually forming a product system covering upstream epitaxy, midstream chips, and downstream modules. Currently, the company has not disclosed specific production volumes, production line scales, or subsequent delivery timelines for related products.

In terms of gallium nitride power devices, the second-generation 700V medium-voltage product has been delivered. The company plans to achieve mass production of 100V low-voltage products by 2027 and gradually enter industrial and automotive-grade application fields. China's BOE HC Semi Tek will continue to leverage its existing Mini/Micro LED business platform to advance the transition of display, optical interconnect, and power device products from R&D verification to stable delivery and scaled production.
