en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Dalad Banner grid-side (incremental distribution network) independent energy storage demonstration project of Inner Mongolia Hydrogen Power Technology Co., Ltd. has officially commenced construction in the Dalad Economic Development Zone. As a key hydrogen energy storage demonstration project in the park, its operation will improve the regional layout of the new power system and promote the high-quality development of the integrated wind-solar-hydrogen-storage industry in Dalad Banner.
The project has a total investment of 150 million yuan, covers an area of 42 mu, and adopts a pure hydrogen energy storage technology route with a total storage capacity of 2MW/4MWh. The system constructs a complete chain of "water electrolysis for hydrogen production—hydrogen storage—hydrogen fuel cell power generation." The project is equipped with 12 sets of 1,000-cubic-meter alkaline electrolyzers, 2 sets of 1MW hydrogen fuel cell power generation systems, and 90,000 standard cubic meters of hydrogen storage facilities. Upon completion, the project can independently provide core power auxiliary services such as energy storage, peak shaving, and frequency regulation for the regional grid, while surplus green hydrogen will be supplied to surrounding industrial enterprises in the park for recycling, achieving efficient local consumption of clean energy.

Leveraging the abundant wind and solar new energy resources of Dalad Banner, the project creates a long-duration independent energy storage demonstration scenario of "electricity—hydrogen—electricity," effectively addressing the intermittency and volatility of new energy generation, and enhancing grid power supply stability and new energy consumption capacity. After completion and operation, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 63 million yuan, directly creating approximately 20 new jobs. While stimulating the local economy and fostering new business models for hydrogen energy storage, it will provide key support for Dalad Economic Development Zone in building a zero-carbon industrial park and achieving the "dual carbon" goals.
The Dalad Banner authorities stated that they will continue to optimize the business environment, strengthen full-cycle tracking services for the project, and fully ensure the project's high-standard completion and operation. By making breakthroughs in the hydrogen energy storage industry, they aim to promote the transformation and upgrading of the banner's energy industry and inject new green momentum into Ordos's construction of a national modern energy economy demonstration city.
