en.Wedoany.com Reported - The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released the "National Logistics Hub Innovation and Development Report (2026)" today (16th). According to the report, the construction and operation of national logistics hubs have achieved significant results, demonstrating vibrant growth and progress toward higher quality and innovation.

It is reported that the average cargo throughput of national logistics hubs in 2025 increased by 5.5% year-on-year, outpacing the national average freight volume growth rate by 2.3 percentage points. Infrastructure shortcomings are being rapidly addressed, with nearly 80% of hubs equipped with railway stations or dedicated lines. The railway access rates for land-based and port-based hubs reached 97.2% and 89.7%, respectively. The resource aggregation capacity of hubs continues to strengthen, establishing a dominant position in the national logistics network. 71.3% of hubs operate rail freight services, with the number of hub train services increasing by 7.4% year-on-year. Port-based hubs operate over 2,700 freight shipping routes.

Upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain are rapidly clustering, with hubs deeply embedded in industrial and supply chains. The functions of commercial circulation and import-export have significantly strengthened. The average commodity transaction volume of production-oriented and commerce-oriented hubs increased by 10.1% year-on-year.

Technological innovation is empowering hub upgrades, with accelerated adoption of digitalization and intelligent applications. In 2025, over 90% of hubs utilized smart facilities and equipment, with widespread implementation of unmanned gates, intelligent dispatching, and automated operations. The pace of green and low-carbon transformation has accelerated. In 2025, over 70% of hubs were equipped with new energy freight vehicles, and more than half used renewable energy for power generation. Green logistics and low-carbon operations have become new industry trends.

According to reports, as of now, China has released a total of 7 batches, comprising 181 national logistics hubs, accounting for approximately 79% of the planned layout.

Experts indicate that these national logistics hubs are vital components of the national logistics infrastructure and serve as core supporting nodes for building the national logistics network. This year marks the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, and the construction of national logistics hubs is entering a new phase of quality improvement, upgrading, and collaborative integration. National logistics hubs should seize the policy opportunities of "Artificial Intelligence+" to promote the pilot testing of new technologies, equipment, and models, effectively utilize data element resources, and accelerate the implementation of logistics big data platforms and trusted data spaces for the logistics industry.
