en.Wedoany.com Reported - U.S. solar tracker manufacturer Array Technologies (Array) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Affordable Wire Management (AWM), a provider of wire management, cable protection, and balance of system (BoS) solutions, for approximately $203 million.

This acquisition further expands Array's solution portfolio in the utility-scale solar sector, while creating new opportunities in the battery energy storage system (BESS) and data center markets. The total consideration represents 8.8 times AWM's trailing twelve-month EBITDA, comprising a base purchase price of $153 million and up to $50 million in additional consideration. Upon completion, AWM's financial results will be consolidated into Array's ARRAY Legacy segment, and its senior management team is expected to remain. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions including regulatory approvals.

Array CEO Kevin Hostetler stated that acquiring AWM will broaden the company's balance of system product portfolio, deepen its relevance with customers, and create new growth directions for the company in the BESS and data center markets. He noted that AWM brings a proven line of innovative products, along with a strong reputation for quality and customer service.

This acquisition continues the trend of tracker manufacturers expanding their product portfolios from standalone trackers to covering the full range of solar systems and BESS applications, as seen in Nextpower's acquisition of BESS system integrator Prevalon in May of this year. Array previously invested in robotics company Swap Robotics (2024) and last year acquired U.S. solar foundation and fixed-tilt racking company APA Solar. This expansion trend is also reflected in the rebranding of other companies in the sector, such as Nextpower and GameChange. Tracker companies are also updating their own products; Array launched an enhanced version of its DuraTrack system supporting two-row module configurations last month, and updated its OmniTrack tracker to allow rotation of up to two degrees.
