en.Wedoany.com Reported - Häfele is investing in a highly automated shuttle warehouse in Wolfsberg, Austria, aiming to enhance logistics efficiency, optimize human resource utilization, and reduce resource consumption. The core of the project is equipped with approximately 96,000 cargo transport containers, utilizing shuttle equipment from Knapp. A total of 132 automated shuttles move containers across 33 levels of four rows of racks, capable of handling up to 2,038 plastic container inbound and outbound operations per hour. Boris Katic, Managing Director of Häfele's Supply Chain, confirmed to LOGISTIK HEUTE the significant role of Knapp as an equipment partner.
This project goes beyond logistics function upgrades. An open campus is being developed around the new building, encompassing a showroom, academy, Service+, event, and innovation spaces. The campus reserves over 2,000 square meters of space for collaborating with customers, suppliers, universities, startups, and other partners to develop solutions for future living and working environments. Gregor Riekena, Chairman of the Management Board at Häfele, stated that the company is actively participating in shaping industry development through concrete actions and invites collaborators from the region, industry, and broader fields to join this development platform.
