It drives the control rod assemblies to move precisely up and down within the reactor core and holds them at designated positions based on commands from the control and protection system. In the event of a power loss, it automatically releases the control rod assemblies, allowing them to rapidly insert into the core under gravity, thereby performing key functions such as reactor startup, power regulation, and power maintenance.
Through close coordination among all parties, the successful arrival of the final batch of control rod drive mechanism components for Unit 2 of the Xudapu Nuclear Power Plant has laid the foundation for the on-site integrated reactor head assembly work for Unit 2.
