On July 19, the Pingqiao Power Supply Station of State Grid Chongqing Wulong Power Supply Company completed the capacity upgrade of the Daitan Kan public transformer area in Pingsheng Village, Pingqiao Town. A new 100 kVA transformer was successfully put into operation, addressing long-standing issues of equipment overload and low voltage in the area, ensuring power supply for local residents during the peak summer season.
In recent years, the living conditions of villagers in Pingsheng Village have continuously improved, with a high penetration rate of large household appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators. During peak summer electricity consumption, the original transformer capacity was insufficient and operated under overload for extended periods, leading to unstable terminal voltage and failure of air conditioners to start properly. This not only affected the electricity experience of residents but also posed safety risks such as line heating and equipment failures. To address this, the company conducted a preliminary survey of load data across all distribution areas, included this site in the key distribution network renovation list for the summer, and quickly implemented the transformer replacement and capacity upgrade project.
On the day of the renovation, workers strictly adhered to standardized power safety procedures, implementing control measures such as height protection and safety isolation. The team coordinated and worked in an orderly manner, completing the entire process sequentially: removal of the old transformer, hoisting and positioning of the new equipment, precise calibration of the tap changer, tightening and securing of connection clamps, and re-measurement of line insulation. After several hours of continuous effort, the new high-capacity transformer was installed and debugged, with all operating parameters meeting standards, and it was successfully energized.
