en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sungrow's first 100MW/200MWh independent energy storage station in Cambodia was recently connected to the grid, serving as a "stabilizer" for the local power grid to drive energy transition. Located about 20 kilometers south of Phnom Penh, rows of white storage cabins stand in neat formation, complementing the tropical sunlight.

Cambodia's power grid infrastructure is relatively weak, and the intermittent impact of renewable energy can easily cause frequency fluctuations. This station is deeply integrated into the main grid of the Indochina Peninsula, fully leveraging the flexible regulation advantages of grid-forming energy storage. It can respond to frequency changes within milliseconds, actively provide inertia support, and effectively improve regional power quality through harmonic active management and multi-unit coordinated "black start," ensuring efficient consumption of renewable energy in Cambodia.

Relying on the three core technologies of the "Cube" technology platform—efficient power generation and consumption, digital intelligent optimization, and scenario integration—Sungrow conducted global simulation optimization of local grid characteristics and load curves, achieving scientific deployment and optimal matching of the energy storage system. To address challenges such as soft soil foundations and prolonged rainy seasons, the project pioneered pile foundation construction techniques in Cambodia's energy storage sector, ensuring stable operation throughout the station's lifecycle.

The station adopts Sungrow's fully self-developed PowerTitan liquid-cooled energy storage system, integrating power electronics, electrochemistry, and grid support "three-in-one" technology, offering advantages such as safety, reliability, high efficiency, energy savings, and intelligent operation and maintenance. The system can increase lifecycle discharge capacity by 8% and reduce fault-related energy losses by 92%, continuously delivering long-term value for customers.
