en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazilian airline Azul Linhas Aéreas has announced the addition of four Airbus A321F freighters to its logistics division, Azul Logística, aiming to expand its cargo fleet and strengthen growth strategies in the Brazilian domestic and Latin American markets. This expansion is supported by Global GSA Group, which provides commercial support and cargo capacity optimization.

The new aircraft will be based at Azul's main cargo hub, Viracopos International Airport in Campinas (São Paulo state), gradually replacing the existing Boeing 737F freighters. The company states that the fleet renewal will bring more sustainable operations, higher efficiency, and significantly increased capacity on regional routes.

Currently, Azul operates over 800 domestic flights daily, handling more than 100,000 shipments per day. With the addition of the new A321F, the company plans to optimize established routes, such as daily flights to Manaus (Amazonas state) and Belém (Pará state), and strengthen its international route network. Current international destinations served by freighters include Santiago, Chile, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, with new routes to Lima, Peru, and Montevideo, Uruguay expected to launch in the coming months. Azul will also continue to operate special cargo charter flights, including those for fertilized eggs and audio equipment for music tours.

Aytekin Saray, CEO of Global GSA Group, stated that this partnership will leverage data analytics tools and CargoTech solutions to identify route network optimization opportunities and develop sustainable strategies for high-demand routes. Izabel Reis, Director of Azul Logística, emphasized that the A321F offers a balance between capacity and flexibility, meeting diverse market demands. She noted that the success achieved since receiving the first freighter of this model in 2024 drove the decision to expand the fleet.

Azul plans to launch weekly cargo flights between Viracopos and Lima in the second half of 2026. This new route will enhance connectivity between Brazil, Peru, and other parts of South America, facilitating the transport of industrial goods, sensitive products, and high-value-added commodities.
