LIUNA and Fengate Break Ground on 425-Unit Rental Community in Ottawa

This development is a collaboration between Fengate Asset Management and The Hi-Rise Group, and is an investment of the LIUNA Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada.

This 37-story mixed-use development plans to deliver 425 new homes, with 15 units designated as affordable. The project is conveniently situated near the new Orchard LRT station, the Queensway highway, and bus route networks, offering excellent transit accessibility. This community marks the third residential project by LIUNA and Fengate in Ottawa, following Milieu & Ballantyne at 175 Main and 1140 Wellington Street West.

Upon completion, West Orchard Urban Rentals will offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom suites, along with some townhomes. Amenities include a fitness center, yoga studio, co-working and social lounge areas, a sports cinema, a children's zone, a private dining area, and a rooftop sky lounge, with retail space planned on the ground floor. The project targets LEED certification and will feature approximately 1,000 square meters of new public park space.
