en.Wedoany.com Reported - Robert Kukla Portugal has completed a new strategic deployment in northern Portugal with the commissioning of a new bonded warehouse in Maia, the appointment of new leadership for the Porto representative office, and the expansion of its operational and commercial teams. These initiatives, launched since the end of 2025, come at a time when the freight forwarding industry faces international mobility instability, complex customs procedures, and increased demand for integrated coordination of transportation, warehousing, documentation, and distribution.

The first step of the strategy was the start of operations at the new bonded warehouse in Maia at the end of 2025. This infrastructure enhances the company's ability to serve domestic and international clients while strengthening its presence in a region dense with industrial and export-oriented enterprises. The company stated that the investment aims to provide logistics solutions that are more efficient, flexible, and adapted to the demands of global trade, while increasing capacity to support the management of goods subject to customs procedures. The new warehouse not only expands the available storage area but also grants the company greater control and flexibility in managing logistics flows, consolidating different operational segments and reducing reliance on external parties.
With the warehouse operational, the strategy entered its second phase: strengthening the northern team. In April 2026, Bernardo Guinea was appointed branch manager, responsible for consolidating existing operations, driving business growth, and developing new business verticals. His experience in logistics and transportation helps deepen the company's presence in the north and diversify its service offerings. In June, the team was further expanded with Raquel Azevedo joining the operations team to support internal process development and enhance operational efficiency, and Filipe Antolin Teixeira joining the commercial team to develop new business and strengthen client relationships.
The company adopted a sequential growth strategy—first building infrastructure, then appointing leadership, and finally strengthening the team—to ensure that physical capacity improvements are supported by corresponding human and commercial resources. The company stated that the addition of new members reflects its commitment to investing in talent and innovation. With the new bonded warehouse in Maia and the strengthened Porto representative office, Robert Kukla Portugal is working to consolidate its position in a key region for Portuguese foreign trade and create a foundation for expanding its client service portfolio.
