en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vallourec has secured a contract with Allseas to supply insulated coated seamless carbon steel pipes for the Atapu 2 pre-salt project in the Santos Basin (Bacia de Santos), operated by Petrobrás. The contract involves supplying 143 km of rigid risers and flowlines, equivalent to approximately 19,000 tons of uncoated steel pipes.

The Atapu field is located approximately 230 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, at water depths ranging from 2,000 to 2,350 meters. The area is currently producing via the FPSO P-70. Through the Atapu 2 project, Petrobrás plans to start production from a second platform, P-84, built by Seatrium. P-84 will be equipped with a production system comprising 18 wells connected via rigid risers, with production expected to begin between 2029 and 2030.

The steel pipes will be manufactured at Vallourec's plant in Jeceaba, Minas Gerais, while the insulation coating will be applied at the company's facility in Serra, Espírito Santo. The company stated that this solution is part of its strategy to expand the supply of high-value-added products for offshore projects.
