en.Wedoany.com Reported - Mining exploration company Algo Grande Copper Corp. announced that a new round of drilling has commenced at its wholly-owned Adelita copper project in Sonora, Mexico, with the AG_CG_PH2_003 drill hole (Hole 3) officially starting at the Cerro Grande skarn target. To this end, the company has mobilized a second track-mounted drill rig to the site.

Hole 3 is located approximately 100 meters along strike from the Phase 1 discovery hole AG_GC_002, with a planned depth of 450 meters. The objectives of this drilling program include confirming and expanding the five known skarn horizons at Cerro Grande, testing the lateral extension of the mineralized zone, and exploring additional horizons in previously unevaluated limestone areas.

The Phase 1 drilling program completed in February 2026 totaled 2,000 meters across four drill holes. Results show that hole AG_GC_002 intersected 41.59 meters of mineralized skarn distributed across five discontinuous intervals; three of these horizons were discovered at a depth of 339 meters, previously completely unknown, confirming the presence of a large-scale stacked skarn system in the area.

Meanwhile, Hole 2 (AG_CG_PH2_002) is advancing and has currently reached approximately 300 meters, with a designed depth of 700 meters. Samples from copper-bearing intervals are being cut and shipped to the ALS laboratory in Hermosillo for analysis.

The company stated that successful results from Hole 3 will support the geological interpretation of a large-scale skarn system at Cerro Grande—both laterally and vertically—thereby providing a basis for further expansion of mineral resources in the area.
