en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Himachal Pradesh government has received administrative approval for two road upgrade projects totaling ₹23.945 crore, sanctioned by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The Public Works and Urban Development Minister welcomed the allocation, stating that it is the result of sustained coordination between the state government and the Public Works Department under the leadership of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and reflects the state government's continued commitment to improving connectivity and rural livelihoods.

The approved projects include the upgrade of the Chhaila-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road at a cost of ₹20.352 crore, and the remaining 16-kilometer stretch of the Tikkar-Jarol-Khamadi road at a cost of ₹3.593 crore. With the inclusion of the remaining 16-kilometer stretch, the entire corridor will be fully connected, expected to benefit farmers and horticulturists in the Rampur assembly constituency.

The Public Works and Urban Development Minister noted that the Chhaila-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road is a vital artery for apple-growing areas such as Theog, Kotkhai, Jubbal, Rohru, and Chopal. With improved road conditions following the upgrade, the transportation of apples and other horticultural products will become faster and safer, reducing transportation costs and strengthening the rural economy.

The Minister stated that the state government will expedite procedural formalities to ensure early commencement of work and completion within the stipulated timeframe. The Himachal Pradesh government will continue to work constructively with the Government of India to secure development benefits for the people of the state. The state government views these two projects as investments in public welfare, expected to improve market access, reduce post-harvest losses, and provide support for the long-term growth of the horticulture sector.
