en.Wedoany.com Reported - TIM Group (formerly Telecom Italia) unveiled its climate transition plan on Monday (3rd), targeting net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The initiatives will be carried out in both Italy and Brazil, with a funding scale of €550 million (approximately R$3.22 billion), which has already been incorporated into the company's current industrial plan.

According to the plan, using 2024 as the baseline, TIM Group must reduce emissions from its own buildings, data centers, network infrastructure, and vehicle fleet by 83% by 2030. Additionally, the Group has set a long-term target of reducing value chain emissions (including those from purchased goods and services, and third-party services) by 55% by 2040.
To achieve these goals, the company plans to advance on multiple fronts simultaneously, including investing in energy efficiency improvements, adopting technologies with lower environmental impact, procuring renewable energy, and aligning the supply chain with the Group's ESG guidelines.
TIM's Brazilian parent company stated that it will accelerate the migration to 5G, a technology that reduces energy consumption per unit of traffic; data centers will undergo modernization by introducing more efficient cooling and energy management systems.
The plan also includes commitments to social inclusion. For the entire Group, the goal is to achieve a 35.5% share of women in leadership positions by 2027; within the next two years, women must account for 50% of new hires. In Brazil, TIM also plans to have at least 90% of its employees participate in digital skills development programs by next year.
