en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 3, 2026, MediSun Planet Pte Ltd ("MediSun Energy") signed an Ecological Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JA at the Chengdu International Dive & Resort Travel Show (DRT SHOW). The two parties will leverage MediSun Energy's VASAR micro-desalination solution to build a zero-carbon water ecosystem, addressing the dual challenges of water scarcity and low-carbon development in island and coastal regions.

The collaboration adopts a cross-integrated approach combining photovoltaic (PV) technology with micro-desalination, delivering an integrated framework of "PV + energy storage + smart energy + desalination + ESG" to address the long-standing "three high" challenges faced by remote island infrastructure: high energy consumption, high carbon emissions, and high operational costs.

The two parties have complementary capabilities. JA provides foundational green power capabilities through its JAx ecosystem platform, deploying integrated PV, battery energy storage, and smart energy systems, while offering digital, ESG, and market brand support; MediSun Energy supplies VASAR series equipment, which integrates industrial-grade water production into a compact footprint, providing technical specifications and operational expertise for coastal and island deployment.

Off-grid islands and marine protected areas far from mainland power grids face significant operational obstacles. Traditional municipal water plants and grid expansion are costly, rainwater harvesting is weather-dependent, and diesel-powered desalination generates a substantial carbon footprint while posing risks of marine fuel pollution.

By combining solar energy with VASAR micro-desalination units, the joint solution eliminates the need for large-scale land civil works, fossil-fuel generators, or traditional grid connections, enabling on-site seawater purification with zero carbon emissions, lower operational expenditure, and measurable ESG value.

Joseph Chua, President and Co-founder of MediSun Planet Pte Ltd, stated that remote islands and fragile coastal ecological zones are on the front lines of water scarcity and climate vulnerability. Traditional desalination requires vast land, permits, grid access, and massive infrastructure—the problem is not the membrane itself, but everything built around it. By miniaturizing desalination into compact VASAR systems and integrating them with JA's renewable energy platform, the two parties are delivering an end-to-end zero-carbon solution that safeguards marine ecosystems while ensuring long-term water security.

Sure Liu, Chief Sustainability Officer and President of Global Brand & Marketing at JA, stated that through the open JAx ecosystem platform, JA will go beyond standalone PV products to build cross-industry integrated "PV + energy storage + smart energy" solutions. The partnership with MediSun Energy enables clean electricity to directly extend into critical water infrastructure, creating a scalable zero-carbon model for global island development, ecotourism, and coastal conservation.

The agreement extends renewable energy applications into the critical water infrastructure sector, providing a standardized blueprint for low-carbon upgrades, sustainable tourism, and the global energy transition.

MediSun Energy is a Singapore-headquartered water infrastructure company that delivers water as a product, deploying factory-built modular plants within weeks, operated by AI. Its platform encompasses clean water, brine recovery, compact wastewater treatment, and portable water systems, serving government and industrial projects in the Gulf region and Southeast Asia.

JA is an enterprise engaged in high-performance PV products, integrated green energy systems, and solar technology R&D. Through its JAx industry solutions platform, JA partners with industry players in the cultural tourism, agriculture, and industrial sectors to drive low-carbon upgrades and promote global sustainable development.
