en.Wedoany.com Reported - Specialty chemicals company LANXESS has launched a new generation of plasticizing flame retardant platform, Disflamoll Advance, designed to help manufacturers navigate increasingly stringent regulatory requirements while delivering high-performance flame protection.
The platform's standout feature is its extremely low triphenyl phosphate (TPP) content, below 0.1%, enabling compliance with evolving regulatory standards without compromising product performance. Disflamoll Advance combines robust flame retardancy with effective smoke suppression, helping to reduce or eliminate the use of antimony trioxide (ATO) in formulations while improving processing efficiency, offering manufacturers greater flexibility in addressing regulatory and sustainability expectations.
The platform's first product is Disflamoll Advance OT, a plasticizing flame retardant specifically developed for polar polymer systems, suitable for applications including flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) flooring, tarpaulins, and artificial leather, as well as insulation foams, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), synthetic rubber, and cellulose esters.
LANXESS states that Disflamoll Advance OT combines low TPP content, flame retardancy, plasticizing capability, and smoke suppression, designed to address evolving market demands, regulatory pressures, and sustainability goals. Additionally, through the use of renewable energy and raw materials, the product's carbon footprint can be up to 40% lower than that of conventional alternatives.
