en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 20MWh independent energy storage station in Eastern Europe, in which SeriSun Energy participated, recently completed commissioning and was officially connected to the grid for operation. The project achieved efficient end-to-end execution covering equipment delivery, installation and commissioning, and system acceptance, making it one of the first benchmark energy storage projects to be commissioned in the region.

This project holds significant importance at three levels: energy transition, grid operation, and market development. The host country is a major coal-consuming nation in the EU and faces pressure from the EU's carbon neutrality goals. The commissioning of the station can effectively mitigate the volatility of wind and solar power generation, laying the foundation for larger-scale renewable energy grid integration and the decarbonization of the local energy system. At the grid operation level, by participating in multi-scenario operations such as the ancillary services market, peak-valley arbitrage, and renewable energy absorption, the project can validate the economic viability of energy storage assets in Europe's high-volatility electricity price environment. At the market development level, the project adopts a design that flexibly adapts PCS (Power Conversion System) to local transformers, which enhances equipment compatibility and localization rates while ensuring overall system performance, providing proven experience for the replication of subsequent projects.

The project is built on the region's abundant renewable energy resources and is equipped with a 20MWh lithium iron phosphate energy storage system, utilizing SeriSun Energy's self-developed Xinghan series 5MWh liquid-cooled containerized energy storage system. Based on a high-energy-density design, this product reduces land occupation and investment costs compared to traditional solutions; the liquid-cooling temperature control technology enhances the system's cycle life, ensures long-term safe and stable operation, and efficiently adapts to European localized grid standards and application requirements.

After grid connection, the project can alleviate frequency deviations caused by fluctuations in wind and solar power output, enhance the local renewable energy absorption capacity, and promote the efficient utilization of new energy. Additionally, the project can participate in the local ancillary services market to generate stable revenue, and conduct charge-discharge operations based on peak-valley electricity price differentials, achieving a combination of ancillary service revenue and peak-valley arbitrage gains, continuously enhancing the overall operational value of the energy storage asset.

SeriSun Energy stated that the overseas energy storage market requires long-term commitment and sustained delivery. The company will continue to deepen its presence in the European energy storage market, uphold technological innovation and efficient delivery, and advance the global green energy transition.
