The Airplane Farm Announces Plans for Three Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Aircraft
en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Airplane Farm, an aircraft company based in Sparks, Nevada, announced on Saturday plans to introduce three electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designs, targeting personal transportation, aerobatic flight, and tactical operations. The company, founded this year, stated that prototype construction and initial testing are underway.

The company's team draws on experience from earlier aircraft development efforts, including the MXS aerobatic racer, ViperJet, Javelin, and TwinJet. All three new designs are based on what the company calls its patent-pending "Electric PowerWing" airframe concept.
Among them, the "Harvest" is a personal powered-lift design aimed at sport pilots and short-range transportation, offering both vertical and conventional takeoff and landing capabilities, with an estimated maximum speed of approximately 111 miles per hour and a sustained cruise range of about 76 miles. The "Storm" targets aerobatic and racing flight, with a planned maximum speed of 250 miles per hour and design load limits of +8/-4 G. The "BarnCat" is an optionally piloted tactical aircraft capable of operating without a crew, described as a carbon-fiber twin-engine tail-sitter with a maximum speed of 275 miles per hour.
Company representatives stated in the announcement that the product line extends from the accessible Harvest commuter to elite competition and complex tactical deployment scenarios, showcasing the company's engineering capabilities. Its design team also has a tradition of participation in Red Bull Air Race events, and the Storm is an aerobatic model built for competitive pilots.
The company said the aircraft are being developed in accordance with the ASTM F3840-26 standard. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) accepted this standard in July as a means of compliance for light-sport powered-lift aircraft under the MOSAIC framework. The standard also covers multirotor aircraft, but the FAA currently accepts it only as a means of compliance for powered-lift aircraft.
