en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gurīn Energy has obtained Electricity Business Licenses (EBLs) for three utility-scale solar projects in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, South Korea, with a combined capacity of 379MW.

The licensing progress for the three projects varies. Jindo Green Solar, located on Jindo Island, has completed its EBL acquisition, having received a 216MW permit in early 2026. The Jindo Jido-yeomjang Solar Power Project, also on Jindo Island, has secured all necessary permits for its full 65MW capacity. The Goheung Nuri Solar Power Project in Goheung County has received a 98MW permit, representing half of its target capacity.

The Goheung Green Solar Project is being developed as a joint venture between Gurīn Energy and Kumyang Green Power, a South Korean renewable energy company, combining project development experience with local industry expertise.

Once operational, the three projects will have a total installed capacity of approximately 500MW, which Gurīn Energy says is sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of about 200,000 households in South Korea. Seongoh Yeom, Representative Director of Gurīn Energy in Seoul, expressed satisfaction with the progress made in advancing the development of three utility-scale solar projects in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City. He noted that the EBLs, issued by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, reflect Gurīn Energy's long-term commitment to South Korea and demonstrate the company's rigorous project development approach in areas such as regulatory compliance, community engagement, environmental protection, and technical design.

Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City is positioning itself as a hub for the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries, with demand for renewable electricity continuing to grow. Gurīn Energy currently holds a portfolio of 600MW of solar and wind projects in South Korea, having acquired 300MW of solar and wind assets in 2025. Its operations in the country are part of a broader Asian strategy, through which the company drives the energy transition by developing, owning, and operating renewable assets across the region.
