en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 24, 2026, Hoymiles launched its new HiSwitch and HiBox gateway in Changzhou. Designed specifically to work with the HiOne All-in-One (BESS) battery energy storage system, both products support seamless off-grid switching, making whole-home backup power more convenient than traditional solutions in terms of installation, expansion, and real-world use.

As household demand for reliable whole-home backup power rises, traditional solutions commonly suffer from complex installation and limited scalability. The HiSwitch unveiled by Hoymiles features a five-in-one design that integrates a switch, circuit breaker, meter, bypass switch, and current transformer into a single device, reducing the number of components and cables and lowering installation workload. Its dimensions are comparable to those of a standard meter, and it can be mounted directly into the distribution panel via a DIN rail structure, eliminating the need for wall drilling or extensive rewiring.

The HiSwitch supports a maximum bypass current of 100 A and can handle a wide range of loads, from lighting and kitchen appliances to high-power equipment. The device offers 6,000 high-current switching cycles and a short-circuit current rating (SCCR) of 6 kA, providing protection in the event of unexpected electrical faults.

For maintenance, the HiSwitch features a minimalist component-replacement design. In the event of a fault, only the switch unit itself needs to be replaced, without dismantling the entire energy storage system. This reduces replacement time by 80% compared to replacing the whole storage system, lowering downtime and after-sales costs.

The HiBox gateway serves as the central control node of the whole-home backup power system while also enabling energy system expansion. The system supports adding a second inverter to increase capacity and backup capability, and can integrate compatible generators and third-party PV inverters, enabling comprehensive data monitoring without additional metering equipment. Appliances connected via Smart Port enable intelligent load management, helping households improve their utilization of clean energy.

Guy Rong, Vice President of Hoymiles, stated that whole-home backup power should not sacrifice installation flexibility. With the HiBox and HiSwitch solutions, users can build a resilient home energy system while maintaining an integrated energy ecosystem. Hoymiles is committed to helping more households achieve smarter and more resilient energy independence through the combination of HiOne, HiBox, and HiSwitch.
