Coastal Machine to Invest $25.5 Million to Expand Precision Manufacturing Facility

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 2, Coastal Machine & Supply confirmed an investment of $25.5 million to expand its existing manufacturing base in Carencro, Louisiana, U.S., adding new capabilities for machining large, complex precision components. The project targets aerospace, space, and defense manufacturing operations. The expansion will take place at the existing facility located at 4832 NE Evangeline Thruway.

Phase one plans to add 20,000 square feet of production space, with subsequent phases adding up to 100,000 square feet depending on project implementation progress. The new space will be used for manufacturing large, complex precision components, with corresponding engineering and production personnel assigned. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2026, with phase one expected to be completed by August 2027.

Coastal Machine's existing manufacturing operations include large, complex turning, five-axis milling, multi-axis CNC machining, assembly, and precision inspection, serving the aerospace, space, defense, and oil and gas equipment sectors. The company's current machining systems can handle large parts and complex geometric components, with milling tolerances on applicable parts reaching as tight as 0.0001 inches. The existing Carencro facility holds AS9100D quality system certification and is ITAR-registered.

The project plans to create 129 new direct jobs while retaining 58 existing positions. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project could also generate 111 indirect jobs. The state's support package for the project includes LED FastStart workforce services, and Coastal Machine is also expected to participate in two state programs: High Impact Jobs and the Industrial Tax Exemption Program.

Coastal Machine's existing space manufacturing operations involve rocket structural brackets, valves, quick-disconnect components, fluid system parts, satellite panels, precision housings, avionics trays, and structural supports. Its aerospace and defense manufacturing systems cover R&D prototypes, low-volume production, and repeat batch production. The new facility space and machining capabilities from this $25.5 million expansion will be implemented at the existing Carencro site.
