Sweden's Ringhals Unit 4 Planned Outage Extended to November 30
en.Wedoany.com Reported - The planned maintenance outage of Unit 4 at Sweden's Ringhals Nuclear Power Plant will be extended to November 30 due to the need for additional cleaning work on site.

During the planned maintenance outage of Unit 3 at Ringhals, inspectors discovered rubber residue in parts of the component cooling water system. The rubber residue originated from leaks in valves within the system. The cleaning work is a preventive measure aimed at avoiding reduced cooling efficiency or damage to components.
Sven-Anders Andersson stated that the replacement of the affected valves had been planned for the coming years, but the rubber had aged more than expected. He said: "We deeply regret the extended outage, but safety and the condition of the plant always remain our top priority."
As a preventive measure, Unit 4 at Ringhals was taken offline on June 30, pending inspections during the annual outage that began on August 19. Under the latest schedule, the unit is expected to be restarted on November 30.
Unit 3 at Ringhals has been offline since May 4 and is expected to return to service on October 31, following the completion of annual maintenance and rubber residue cleaning work.
