LimX Dynamics and Enhanced Robotics Jointly Develop Embodied Tennis Robot, to Debut on September 22
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 15, LimX Dynamics and Enhanced Robotics signed a strategic ecosystem cooperation agreement in Shenzhen. The two parties will carry out joint development and scenario validation around embodied sports robots and an AI sports data platform. The first embodied tennis robot jointly developed by the two parties is planned to make its first public appearance on September 22 during the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup Finals held in Shenzhen.

This cooperation covers three directions: the robot body, intelligent sports scenarios, and a sports data platform. According to the scope of cooperation announced by both parties, the embodied sports robot will serve as the hardware carrier for real sports environments, while the AI sports data platform will handle sports data collection, analysis, and scenario applications. The first product chooses the tennis scenario as the validation entry point. At present, the two parties have not yet announced the robot's specific body structure, degrees of freedom, locomotion method, vision sensor configuration, hitting speed, or commercialization timeline.
LimX Dynamics has previously carried out technical validation of embodied robots in tennis scenarios. In September 2025, the company announced an autonomous tennis ball retrieval test with its full-size humanoid robot LimX Oli. During the task, the robot used active perception to complete target recognition, movement approach, body posture adjustment, and grasping actions. LimX Dynamics' current product system includes the full-size humanoid robots Oli and Luna as well as the modular TRON series, and it has made embodied intelligence bodies, motion control, and humanoid brain systems its main technical directions.
Enhanced Robotics, meanwhile, has long been positioned in sports robots and AI sports equipment. Its Tenniix product has already entered tennis training scenarios, using AI vision for ball trajectory tracking and integrating real-time scoring, voice interaction, and customizable training functions. In September 2026, Tenniix showcased an AI vision tennis robot at the IFA exhibition in Germany, with application directions including tennis and pickleball training. The embodied tennis robot jointly developed with LimX Dynamics is a new cooperation project, and the two parties have not yet confirmed whether it will directly adopt Tenniix's existing hardware platform.
LimX Dynamics' existing full-size humanoid robot Oli is 165 cm tall, with 31 degrees of freedom in its body, and can support tasks such as whole-body mobile manipulation, gait planning, dexterous manipulation, and reinforcement learning. The company is also developing the LimX COSA embodied agent system and a software and hardware toolchain for VLA models. This sports robot cooperation further introduces these general embodied technologies into sports scenarios, but the specific body model of the first jointly developed tennis robot has not yet been announced.
The 2026 Billie Jean King Cup Finals will be held from September 22 to 27 at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, with a total of 8 teams participating in the knockout stage. Each national team matchup includes two singles matches and one doubles match. The two parties plan to arrange the debut of the first embodied tennis robot on the first day of the event. Currently available public information has not yet disclosed whether the robot will be demonstrated in official matches, on training courts, in an exhibition area, or in other event segments.
