Ukrainian Banks Finance Power Plants With Capacity of 310 MW in June-Oct 2024

Wedoany.com Report-Nov 9, Ukrainian banks provided financing to power plants with total capacity of 310 MW in 21 regions in June-October 2024, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Energy Ministry, which cited surveys of banks conducted by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

"The overall volume of loans actually issued to meet power needs of legal entities amounts to UAH 3.4 billion," the ministry said.

Banks also issued some 1,000 loans worth UAH 176 million to private individuals to finance their power supply necessities in October, bringing the overall gross volume of such loans to UAH 366 million.

According to the NBU statistics, from June to October 2024, banks received 2,927 applications from businesses to finance the installation of power equipment to enhance their energy independence worth in total UAH 66.2 billion and approved UAH 11.7 billion worth of such loans.
