Wedoany.com Report-Jun 27, Xiaomi launched its first all-electric SUV, the YU7, at a product event in Beijing, marking a key milestone in its automotive expansion. The YU7 secured over 200,000 orders within three minutes of its market debut, reflecting strong consumer demand.

The YU7 is available in three variants: YU7, YU7 Pro, and YU7 Max, priced at 253,500 yuan, 279,900 yuan, and 329,900 yuan, respectively. Built on the same design platform as the SU7 sedan, the YU7 features a sleek coupe-style exterior with C-shaped daytime running lights, air ducts, a split spoiler, and a full-width tail light. It measures 4,999 mm long, 1,996 mm wide, 1,600 mm high, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, offering ample interior space.

A standout feature is the absence of a traditional instrument cluster, replaced by a 1.1-meter panoramic projection display. This system, embedded beneath the windshield, projects driving data like speed and navigation onto a retina-grade strip at 108 PPD. It adapts to driving conditions, prioritizing traffic information in city mode and performance metrics like G-force in sport mode. The SUV includes 36 storage compartments, totaling 1,970 liters, with features like a 13.7L glovebox, a 5.2L rear drawer, and a 4.6L refrigerated compartment.

The YU7 operates on an 800V silicon carbide platform with the HyperEngine V6s Plus motor. The base YU7, with a single-motor rear-wheel drive, delivers 235 kW and 528 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.88 seconds. The YU7 Pro, with dual-motor all-wheel drive, offers 365 kW and 690 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in 4.27 seconds. The YU7 Max, also all-wheel drive, produces 508 kW and 866 Nm, hitting 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds with a top speed of 253 km/h.

Range capabilities are impressive, with the YU7 and YU7 Pro equipped with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery, providing 835 km and 770 km (CLTC), respectively. The YU7 Max uses a 101.7 kWh ternary lithium battery, offering 760 km. All variants support ultra-fast charging, recovering 620 km in 15 minutes and charging from 10% to 80% in as little as 12 minutes.

For driver assistance, the YU7 features a LiDAR unit, 4D millimeter-wave radar, 11 HD cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, powered by NVIDIA’s Thor platform with 700 TOPS and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, enhancing intelligent driving functions.

Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, emphasized the YU7’s premium appeal, stating: “The Yught has an irreplaceable and unique appeal,” positioning it as a strong contender in the electric SUV market.
