deugro Opens Wind Power Component Logistics Hub in Antwerp

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 21, project logistics company deugro announced that in June of this year it opened a new port logistics facility for wind power equipment in Antwerp, Belgium, to provide wind turbine component handling, storage, and onward transport services for a leading global wind turbine manufacturer. The facility can handle the full range of large wind turbine components, including blades, nacelles, and towers, and is equipped with high-capacity lifting equipment, specialized handling gear, and extensive storage and pre-assembly areas.

The new facility connects to the Port of Antwerp's road, rail, and inland waterway networks, enabling the transport of extra-long and extra-heavy wind turbine components by inland barge via the Rhine-Scheldt corridor, and linking to wind power project regions in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and elsewhere in Europe. deugro currently provides services in Antwerp including vessel discharge and supervision, quay operation coordination, heavy-lift hoisting, blade and component storage planning, inventory management, condition inspections, site surveys, and the organization of onward road and inland waterway transport.

The logistics facility is already in actual operation. deugro stated that the first vessel discharge was completed in July of this year, followed by the handling and storage of the relevant wind power components at the quay. The company's official announcement title also confirmed that the first cargo received at the Antwerp facility included wind turbine blades shipped from China.

Antwerp is the fourth dedicated wind power port handling and storage node that deugro has recently established. The company had previously set up related facilities at the Lindø area of the Port of Odense in Denmark, as well as at Wilhelmshaven and Brake ports in Germany. Among them, the Lindø facility has 28,000 square meters of port storage space, supported by large wind power component handling equipment and on-site personnel.

deugro has continued to expand its wind power project logistics business in recent years, covering onshore wind, offshore wind structures, submarine cables, offshore logistics, and renewable energy supply chains. The company disclosed that over the past more than 20 years it has participated in more than 200 wind power projects in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, transporting oversized equipment including large nacelles, blades, and submarine cables.
