Ingka's 74.9 MW Solar Project in South Carolina, USA, Begins Commercial Operation

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Ingka Investments announced that the Kingstree West solar project, located in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, USA, has officially entered commercial operation. The project has an installed capacity of 74.9 MW AC and 101 MW DC, with a total of 178,000 photovoltaic modules installed. It is expected to generate approximately 186 million kWh annually, enough to meet the annual electricity needs of about 15,200 South Carolina households.

Kingstree West is Ingka Investments' first utility-scale solar project in which all stages—from land holding and project development to construction and operation—were advanced entirely by its in-house team. Construction began in March 2025, and the project has now been completed on schedule and transitioned to the power generation phase.

The project was fully funded and built by Ingka Investments. With its entry into operation, Ingka Investments now operates 3 solar projects in the United States, with a total installed capacity of 372.5 MW; globally, it operates 27 solar projects.

Ingka Investments also plans to apply for Solar Habitat Certification in South Carolina for Kingstree West. This certification primarily focuses on ecological measures such as native vegetation, pollinator habitats, and stormwater and soil erosion management at solar sites.
