China Successfully Launches Satellite Internet Low-Earth-Orbit Group 26 Satellites

en.Wedoany.com Reported - At 21:32 Beijing time on September 23, China successfully launched the satellite internet low-Earth-orbit Group 26 satellites into space from the Hainan Commercial Spacecraft Launch Site using a Long March 8A carrier rocket, and the satellites subsequently entered their predetermined orbit. China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation disclosed that this batch of satellites was developed under the overall leadership of the corporation's Fifth Academy, and that this mission was the 669th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.

The Long March 8A carrier rocket that carried out this mission was developed under the overall leadership of the First Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and adopts a two-stage-and-a-half liquid configuration. The rocket's first core stage is a 3.35-meter-diameter liquid oxygen/kerosene module, the second core stage is a 3.35-meter-diameter hydrogen/oxygen module, and it is equipped with two liquid boosters and a 5.2-meter-diameter fairing. It can be used for launch missions to deploy constellations in low and medium Earth orbits.

This was a launch in the recent continuous progress of satellite internet low-Earth-orbit constellation deployment missions. On August 4, the Long March 8A had already sent the low-orbit Group 23 satellites into their predetermined orbit from the Hainan Commercial Spacecraft Launch Site; on August 16, the Long March 12 completed the launch of the low-orbit Group 24 satellites; and on September 17, the Long March 12 again sent the low-orbit Group 25 satellites into their predetermined orbit. The Group 26 mission on September 23 was separated from the Group 25 launch by 6 days.

The Long March 8A has already carried out multiple low-orbit satellite internet constellation deployment missions. In March 2026, when this model carried out the launch of satellite internet low-orbit Group 20, it was already its 8th mission to carry out related low-orbit satellite launches. This type of rocket has a carrying capacity of 7 tonnes to a 700-kilometer Sun-synchronous orbit and is mainly aimed at the high-density constellation deployment launch requirements of low and medium Earth orbits.
