Mexico's Cusi Silver Mine Intersects 3.35 m at 1,280 g/t Ag
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 14, Canadian mining company Silverco Mining announced the latest drilling results from its Cusi silver mine in Chihuahua, Mexico. The program involved 15 drill holes and is part of a 30,000-meter drilling plan for 2026. At the Promontorio deposit, hole UGCU26-09 returned a true-width intersection of 3.35 m grading 1,280 g/t Ag, with associated gold at 0.42 g/t, lead at 1.28% and zinc at 1.49%; within this interval, a 0.65 m section graded 5,729 g/t Ag. The company plans to restart mine production in Q4 2026 and update its mineral resource estimate in H1 2027.

Hole UGCU26-09 was drilled to a final depth of 100.5 m at an azimuth of 193.8° and a dip of -52.5°. The high-grade mineralized interval lies between 52.60 m and 59.00 m downhole, with a drilled intersection length of 6.40 m. The hole also intersected a mineralized zone at 42.95 m to 45.05 m with a true width of 1.28 m grading 1,103 g/t Ag, including a 0.37 m section grading 3,645 g/t Ag. The hole is located approximately 20 m south of high-grade hole UGCU26-08, which was announced in July 2026.
Other holes at the Promontorio deposit also returned silver-lead-zinc mineralization. Hole UGCU26-10 returned a true-width intersection of 4.18 m grading 632 g/t Ag, with associated gold at 1.17 g/t, lead at 4.79% and zinc at 1.26%; within this interval, a 1.79 m section graded 916 g/t Ag and 10.67% Pb. Hole UGCU26-14 returned 597 g/t Ag over a true width of 1.55 m, including a 0.90 m section grading 975 g/t Ag.
At the San Miguel deposit, hole CU-26-80 returned a true-width intersection of 5.36 m grading 330 g/t Ag between 163.00 m and 171.40 m downhole, including a 1.03 m section grading 898 g/t Ag. At the San Juan deposit, hole CU-26-81 intersected a true-width interval of 1.38 m grading 1,075 g/t Ag at approximately 465 m below surface. Another hole at San Miguel, CU-26-83, returned a polymetallic intersection with a true width of 1.19 m grading 10.49% Pb and 10.70% Zn.
The 2026 drilling program at the Cusi mine comprises 10,000 m of underground drilling and 20,000 m of surface drilling. The underground drilling is mainly intended for infill verification of mineralization in the planned restart areas at Promontorio and San Miguel, while the surface drilling covers targets including San Miguel, Eduwiges and San Juan. The company will adjust the mine's initial mining design based on the results of this exploration program and plans to complete an updated mineral resource estimate in H1 2027.
Silverco Mining's previously announced preliminary economic assessment estimated average annual silver-equivalent production of 2.47 million ounces from 2028 to 2032 following the restart of the Cusi mine, initial capital requirements of approximately US$19.2 million, and all-in sustaining costs per payable silver-equivalent ounce of US$26.75 once the mine reaches full production. The company plans to restart production in Q4 2026 and ship its first concentrate.
