en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the calcium chloride plant of the Kazakhstan chemical complex project, for which China National Chemical Engineering International Corporation served as EPC general contractor and Tianchen Corporation executed the work, successfully completed the full-process water linkage trial run, with the entire process flow connected in one go and all systems operating smoothly in linkage. The plant is located in Zhanatas, Zhambyl Region, Kazakhstan, with a planned annual production capacity of 130,000 tons of calcium chloride. Preparations are currently underway for leak testing, system commissioning, and subsequent feedstock introduction and start-up.

This trial run used desalinated water instead of production media to conduct joint operation tests on process piping, static and rotating equipment, automated control systems, and utilities. The trial run covered process flow connectivity, pipeline flushing, equipment operating condition checks, and instrumentation and control system linkage verification. On-site personnel continuously monitored key parameters such as pressure, flow rate, and liquid level, and carried out categorized rectification of identified issues.

Prior to the trial run, the project team completed single-machine trial runs, system isolation confirmation, safety technical briefings, and emergency response plan preparation, and coordinated on-site coordination among construction, design, start-up, and owner units. With the completion of the water linkage trial run, the calcium chloride plant will enter the leak testing and subsequent system commissioning phase, followed by hot trial run and feedstock introduction and start-up preparations.

The calcium chloride plant is a supporting production unit of the Kazakhstan chemical complex project. The complex is planned to include production facilities with annual capacities of 800,000 tons of sulfuric acid, 260,000 tons of potassium sulfate, 200,000 tons of calcium hydrogen phosphate, and 130,000 tons of calcium chloride. Among them, the first phase of the 800,000-ton-per-year sulfuric acid project was commissioned in May 2026, while the calcium chloride plant continues to advance pre-commissioning work.
