en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 29, Abundia Global Impact Group of the United States confirmed new front-end engineering design progress for its waste plastics-to-fuel and chemicals project at Cedar Port in Baytown, Texas, with Denmark's Topsoe having delivered, on schedule, the first issue of piping and instrumentation diagrams, material selection diagrams and equipment lists for the HydroFlex upgrading process. The project is planned to process approximately 80,000 tonnes per year and is currently integrating design data from each process unit to advance the overall front-end engineering design (FEED).

The engineering documents delivered this time cover the piping and instrumentation configuration, equipment selection basis and process material selection for the HydroFlex upgrading process. Topsoe has completed the engineering document deliverables stipulated under the contract to date, with the related work executed according to the established schedule and budget. Abundia is incorporating these documents into the integrated engineering design package and integrating them with the design data for the waste plastics liquefaction process.

The project's technical solution adopts Alterra Energy's waste plastics liquefaction technology and Topsoe's HydroFlex upgrading technology, with planned products including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), renewable diesel and naphtha. US engineering firm Burns & McDonnell is responsible for the front-end engineering design, while Nexus PMG serves as owner's engineer, participating in the integrated design of the various process technologies and project engineering management.

The project has completed the basic process design package (PDP) and is currently in the integrated FEED implementation phase. Subsequent engineering work includes integrating the process design data from each technology licensor, forming a complete engineering design package, and advancing preparation for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract. In its August 2026 project progress report, Abundia adjusted its final investment decision target to early 2027.
