en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 4, Hyundai Motor Group of South Korea publicly demonstrated for the first time an autonomous hydrogen refueling robot (ACR-H) for commercial vehicles at the 2026 World Hydrogen Energy Expo, which opened in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, performing an autonomous hydrogen refueling operation for a hydrogen fuel cell street sweeper via the robot. The system uses vision AI to identify the vehicle's hydrogen refueling port and automatically completes operations such as opening the protective cover and connecting the refueling nozzle, and was developed to meet the unmanned refueling needs of commercial vehicles.

The autonomous hydrogen refueling robot was demonstrated in coordination with the hydrogen fuel cell street sweeper at the exhibition site. Hyundai Motor Group plans to use this technology to achieve 24-hour unmanned hydrogen refueling, reduce the repetitive refueling operations performed by drivers, and improve the automated operation capability of hydrogen refueling facilities. This demonstration marked the robot's first public hydrogen refueling demonstration for commercial vehicles.

At the same time, Hyundai Motor Group exhibited for the first time a hydrogen fuel cell system dedicated to commercial vehicles that has been improved for durability, upgrading the fuel cell unit and key components for long-duration operation, long-distance transport, and heavy-load conditions. The Group also showcased the Bluelink Uptime Care fleet management system, which can monitor in real time the operating status, key component conditions, and anomaly information of commercial vehicles and provide preventive maintenance alerts.

The expo is being held from November 4 to 6 at KINTEX Exhibition Center 2 in Goyang. Hyundai Motor Group is also displaying the ELEC CITY hydrogen fuel cell low-floor intercity bus, which is under development, and has arranged test rides and test drives of the upgraded UNIVERSE hydrogen fuel cell bus and the new XCIENT hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty truck. The Group also exhibited a hydrogen fuel cell module suitable for railway transport and a hydrogen-powered locomotive model.
