Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 19, China Electric Equipment Group has announced the results of its 2025 centralized procurement for energy storage cells, allocating nearly all 7,248 megawatt-hours to 314 Ah products. The tender, divided into 10 packages, included cell capacities of 50 Ah, 100 Ah, 280 Ah, and 314 Ah, reflecting a significant effort to meet energy storage demands.
The procurement’s scale stands out due to its focus on larger 314 Ah cells, with no bids received for the smaller 50 Ah (16 MWh) and 100 Ah (32 MWh) packages. These smaller cell types are typically used for behind-the-meter or smaller-scale distributed and grid applications. The preference for higher-capacity cells suggests a strategic emphasis on large-scale energy storage solutions.
The tender process underscores China Electric Equipment Group’s commitment to advancing energy storage infrastructure. By prioritizing 314 Ah cells, the group aims to support robust, high-capacity systems that enhance grid reliability and energy management. This initiative aligns with broader industry trends toward efficient, scalable energy storage technologies to meet growing energy needs.
The successful allocation of the 7,248 MWh tender highlights the group’s role in driving innovation in the energy sector. The focus on larger cell capacities positions China Electric Equipment Group to address the demands of modern energy systems, supporting applications that require substantial storage capabilities. This procurement effort contributes to the development of sustainable energy solutions, fostering advancements in grid stability and energy efficiency.
