Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 25, TotalEnergies SE, based in Paris, announced an agreement to sell its sustainable consultancy and solutions affiliate, GreenFlex, to Oteis, an independent French consulting and engineering group. This move aligns with TotalEnergies’ strategy to focus on its core activities of energy production and supply, streamlining its operations to prioritize energy-related services.

Oteis Conseil & Ingénierie, with a workforce of over 800 employees and approximately 30 offices across France and Europe, specializes in multiple sectors, including construction, water and development, infrastructure, and industry. The group has a proven track record of successfully integrating new teams and enhancing their expertise through acquisitions like GreenFlex, which has contributed to its significant growth in recent years.

Through this acquisition, Oteis aims to leverage GreenFlex’s specialized knowledge in environmental and social consultancy, low-carbon energy performance, and transition financing. The goal is to create a leading player in the market, offering a comprehensive range of services and solutions to meet the growing demand for sustainable practices.

For GreenFlex’s employees, the agreement opens doors to new market opportunities while maintaining their commitment to supporting businesses and regions in achieving sustainability, decarbonization, and improved energy efficiency. GreenFlex’s expertise will continue to play a key role in helping clients adopt environmentally responsible practices.

As part of the agreement, TotalEnergies will remain a significant client of GreenFlex, entering into a contract for the production of French Energy Saving Certificates (CEEs). This partnership ensures continued collaboration between the two entities, with TotalEnergies benefiting from GreenFlex’s expertise in energy efficiency solutions.

The transaction is pending standard conditions, including consultation with employee representatives and approval from competition authorities. Both companies are working toward a smooth transition to finalize the deal.

This strategic divestment allows TotalEnergies to focus on its primary energy objectives while enabling Oteis to strengthen its position in the sustainability and consultancy sectors.
