Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 25, At the K Show in Düsseldorf, Germany, from October 8 to 15, 2025, Novoloop, based in Menlo Park, California, revealed a key collaboration with Shanghai Huide Science & Technology Co., Ltd. This partnership focuses on expanding the manufacturing of Novoloop’s Lifecycled thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The arrangement is secured via a five-year Contract Manufacturing Agreement, which provides clear guidelines for supply, costs, and quality benchmarks.

Novoloop employs an innovative chemical method to transform used polyethylene waste into high-grade Lifecycled™ polyols and polyurethane. This approach allows production of materials typically derived from non-renewable sources to utilize difficult-to-process waste plastics instead, promoting resource efficiency.

Shanghai Huide Science & Technology Co., Ltd. brings almost three decades of progress in polyurethane advancements. The company maintains comprehensive operations spanning research and development, production expansion, fabrication, and logistics oversight. This expertise forms a solid base for converting novel materials into large-scale practical applications.

In joint efforts, Novoloop and Huide have generated several runs of Lifecycled™ 67A TPU on industrial reactive extrusion equipment, incorporating Novoloop’s Lifecycled™ polyol and recipes. These outputs have satisfied all specified quality and functionality criteria, validating the potential for broader TPU fabrication using recycled materials. As outlined in the pact, the collaborators will implement Global Recycled Standard (GRS) tracking and documentation as volumes increase, while creating a structure to introduce further variants of Lifecycled™ TPU moving ahead.

“This partnership marks a major step forward in making circular TPU commercially viable at scale,” said Novoloop CEO Miranda Wang. “By teaming with a world-class polyurethane producer like Huide, we can offer dependable quality, traceability, and cost stability — all essential for broad adoption.”

“We are excited about the transformative potential of this collaboration,” said Huide General Manager Charley Qian. “Huide has always stood for sustainability and innovation, and for delivering products that embody quality, consistency, and trust. Together with Novoloop, we can extend this mission and drive technological innovation toward a more sustainable life.”

This alliance combines Novoloop’s cutting-edge recycling techniques with Huide’s established production strengths, paving the way for greater availability of eco-friendly TPU. By prioritizing circular inputs, the initiative supports industries in shifting toward reduced environmental impact without sacrificing performance. The five-year commitment ensures steady progress, fostering reliability in supply chains for global clients seeking sustainable alternatives.

As the plastics sector evolves, such cooperative ventures highlight opportunities to integrate waste management into mainstream manufacturing. Novoloop and Huide’s successful pilot batches demonstrate practical feasibility, setting an example for scaling similar technologies. With GRS compliance in place, the output will maintain verifiable recycled content, appealing to brands focused on transparency and responsibility.

Looking forward, the framework allows for diversification into additional TPU types, potentially broadening applications in footwear, apparel, and automotive sectors. This development reinforces the role of cross-border partnerships in advancing material science, contributing to long-term goals of waste reduction and resource conservation worldwide.
