Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 13, The French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has released the results of its latest onshore wind tender, the tenth round under the PPE2 Multi-annual Energy Programme, targeting 925 MW of capacity. Over 90 projects were submitted, with 42 selected, totaling 952.8 MW at an average price of €86.6 per megawatt-hour.

RWE has been awarded two wind projects with a combined capacity of 21.6MW.

RWE has been awarded two wind projects, Balinot in the Oise department and Langonnet in Morbihan, with a combined capacity of 21.6 MW. Each project will feature three wind turbines generating 10.8 MW.

“2025 has been a successful year for RWE in France,” the company noted, highlighting that more than 83 MW of wind and solar projects have been commissioned in recent months. In addition, RWE secured 82 MW in the CRE’s 2024 onshore wind tenders. With these two new projects, the company’s awarded onshore wind capacity in the 2025 CRE tenders now totals 172.6 MW, alongside 19.6 MW of alternating current solar capacity.

This achievement reinforces RWE’s position as a leading player in France’s energy transition. Since entering the French market in 2020, RWE has commissioned 275 MW and now manages a portfolio of approximately 1.6 GW of onshore wind projects and one gigawatt-peak of solar projects at various development stages. This includes 408 MW previously awarded in CRE tenders.

RWE’s growing portfolio reflects its commitment to supporting France’s renewable energy targets and strengthening the country’s low-carbon energy infrastructure. The company continues to develop wind and solar projects across multiple regions, enhancing grid capacity and contributing to national clean energy goals.

The Balinot and Langonnet projects exemplify RWE’s strategy of combining onshore wind with solar developments to create integrated renewable energy solutions. Both projects are expected to generate significant local benefits, including clean energy supply, job creation during construction, and long-term operational opportunities in the Oise and Morbihan departments.

Overall, the 2025 CRE tender results underscore France’s ongoing efforts to expand renewable energy capacity, with RWE playing a prominent role through its growing wind and solar portfolio. The awarded projects are set to further enhance the company’s contribution to the country’s energy transition and strengthen its presence in Europe’s competitive renewable energy market.

With RWE’s active development pipeline, the company is well positioned to continue scaling renewable energy capacity, supporting national and regional sustainability targets, and delivering reliable, low-carbon power to communities across France.
