en.Wedoany.com Reported - Ausgold (ASX:AUC) has obtained new results from drilling at the Central Zone of its Katanning Gold Project in Western Australia, located beneath the known 2.44 million ounce open-pit resource and 1.33 million ounce ore reserve. Both infill and deep extension drilling have confirmed the continuity of the mineralized system, with one of two deep diamond drill holes intersecting 13.8 meters at 0.48 g/t gold from 481.5 meters, approximately 300 meters below the existing open-pit resource, confirming the extension of the mineralized system beyond current boundaries.
Significant assay results from the drilling include: hole BSRC2073 intersected 16 meters at 1.32 g/t gold from 252 meters downhole, including 6 meters at 2.31 g/t from 261 meters and 2 meters at 2.03 g/t; hole BSRC2087 intersected 12 meters at 1.49 g/t gold from 261 meters, including 8 meters at 2.05 g/t from 261 meters; and hole BSRC2072 intersected 3 meters at 5.67 g/t gold from 255 meters. These results all point to the mineralization potential at depth within the resource.
Initial results from AUC's 25,000-meter infill drilling program have also increased confidence in the geological mineralization model. Preliminary results include hole BSRC2104 intersecting 10 meters at 1.56 g/t gold from 36 meters, including 3 meters at 4.45 g/t from 40 meters; and hole BSRC2091 intersecting 4 meters at 3.31 g/t gold from 11 meters, including 3 meters at 4.29 g/t from 12 meters.
Executive Chairman John Dorward stated that the latest results demonstrate significant growth potential for the project beyond current resources. He noted that encountering mineralization approximately 300 meters below the existing resource confirms the continuity of the deep mineralized system and supports the view that the Central Zone still contains substantial underexplored areas.
The Katanning Project features a 15-kilometer mineralized trend spanning the Northern, Central, and Southern resource zones, with approximately 90% of resources concentrated in the Central Zone. Assay results from the current extension drilling come from seven reverse circulation holes totaling 2,187 meters and one diamond drill hole drilled to 519.51 meters, targeting extensions of the Jinkas-White Dam vein system below current resources, with most holes encountering gold mineralization.

Diamond drill hole BSDD063 is one of two deep drill holes co-funded by the State Government's Exploration Incentive Scheme. The drilling locations of BSDD063 and BSDD064 are approximately 300 meters and 550 meters below the resource, respectively, making them among the deepest holes ever completed in the Central Zone. They target areas where Katanning mineralization remains open at depth and coincide with large-scale off-hole conductors previously identified by downhole electromagnetic surveys. Both holes also aim to test the entire folded ore-bearing sequence at Katanning, which hosts stacked mineralized veins characteristic of Yilgarn orogenic gold systems.
AUC is awaiting assay results from BSDD064 and conducting additional DHEM surveys on both diamond drill holes to refine future drilling targets. Meanwhile, the 25,000-meter infill drilling program continues to increase resource confidence. Exploration results from early regional targets Moulyinning and Kraken are pending, with an updated resource estimate expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2026.
