Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 20, The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has updated its November forecast for Kazakhstan’s 2025 wheat crop, raising the estimate to 18.9 million tons from 16 million tons reported in September. The revised figure aligns more closely with recent production levels in the country.
Yevgeny Karabanov, representative of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, noted that the new USDA projection is comparable to the previous year’s outcome. In 2024, Kazakhstan produced 18.58 million tons of wheat, according to both USDA records and the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed that harvesting of grains and legumes is now complete across the country. Farmers gathered 27.1 million tons from 16 million hectares this season. Wheat volume totaled 20.3 million tons, marking an increase of 500,000 tons over the previous year.
Barley production stayed steady at approximately 4 million tons. The legume harvest achieved a record level, exceeding 1 million tons for the first time.
The combination of higher domestic output reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and the improved international forecast from USDA reflects continued progress in Kazakhstan’s grain sector. These developments are expected to support stable supply and enhanced export availability during the 2025 marketing year.
Strong wheat harvests in recent seasons have enabled Kazakhstan to maintain its position as a reliable supplier to markets in Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and other regions. The increased production volumes provide additional flexibility for meeting both domestic food needs and international demand in the coming period.
